Buy this rope as your rope that you plan on thrashing. It barley gets dirty despite abuse in the dust at the base of crags, never frays rubbing over edges when I didn’t bring long enough slings for top rope, and gives a soft catch on lead falls. Knots are easy to tie, and the break-in period is only a few outings before this rope is supple and handles very well. I would not recommend it in the alpine, but for every other application it should be your go-to rope. I have no complaints, and the price is pretty dirt cheap. Unless you work somewhere where you can get a killer deal on high-end cords, get one of these for general use and save your spendy ropes for endeavors where weight is a real concern.

I’ve only been out with it a few times, but the dry coating has kept it workable in wet, freezing conditions so far. The only downside is it’s a little stiffer than other ropes I’ve used and easier to get tangled.

This is a great rope regardless of price. A little stiff at first, but breaks in well. So far very durable. Same rope as their high-end $200+ Apex but made with white yarn which is cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Not sure why you’d want to pay more unless you want a bi-pattern or need a double dry treated rope. Also check out the Edelrid Cobra 10.3mm and Python 10mm which are an even better deal.
